Draw and decorate (paint, paper, collage or anything you’d like) a paper gumboot picture and we’ll hang it up for all to see on Gumboot Day.

Instructions
· Copy (or print and photocopy) the gumboot from our website so it fits on an A3 page.
(that’s the same size as 2 ordinary A4 pages from your printer or photocopier).
Or, design your own gumboot picture that fits on an A3 page.
· Decorate it any way you’d like, with whatever you’d like. Make it colourful and interesting to look at.
· Write your name, age and contact details clearly on the back.
· Drop it in to us at the Taihape Information Centre. Or, bring it with you to the Gumboot Decorating Gazebo on Gumboot Day before 2.00pm.
· The winners will be announced by the emcee at the prize-giving at 2.45pm on the Day.
· A3 paper gumboots will be available from the Taihape Information Centre if you want to call in and collect them!

Come and join us at the Gumboot Decorating Gazebo in Memorial Park. Cost $2.00 per child.
Under 7 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.
From 12.00noon till 2.00pm we’ll have an Art Workshop for Children who want to make and decorate paper gumboots. The maximum number of participants at any one time will be 12, so be early or you may have to wait a little while! We’ll supply everything you need.

Find an old gumboot, or even a pair, and let your imagination run away with you! We’re looking for decorated gumboots to display around the town in the run up to Gumboot Day.
2. Guess the Celebrity - Who owns this Gumboot? What would Michael Jackson’s gumboot look like? Or Beyonce’s? Or John Key’s? Decorate a gumboot and let people guess who it belongs to.
3. Recycled Gumboots What can you make out of a gumboot? Decorate a gumboot with recycled items, or recycle a gumboot.
4. Bling Gumboots! Dress up Taihape style, decorate your gumboot to impress.
For locals: Decorate the gumboot(s), write your name and contact details on the inside and drop it to us at the Taihape Information Centre on or before 12 March. We’ll use these gumboots to display around the town, and on Gumboot Day! For entrants from out of town: bring your entries to the Gumboot Decorating Gazebo on Gumboot Day before 2.00pm.
All 4 gumboot art competition winners (adults and children) will be announced by the emcee at 2.45pm on Gumboot Day. Judges will award a small prize.
