Have you decided on taking a trip on a Steam Train to Taihape? Or are you still making up your mind?

Steam Train Sundays will run as part of the Overlander service on the following dates:

Adult, Child and Senior Fares
From Wellington / Paraparaumu / Levin to Taihape and return
$162 per adult, $114 per child, $106 per senior* Specials are available been in now

From Palmerston North / Feilding / Marton to Taihape and return
$79 per adult, $55 per child, $71 per senior*

*Note that Senior fares are not available on the website. Bookings can be made by phoning us on 0800 TRAINS (872 467) or at your local Tranz Scenic accredited agent.

Gumboot Throwing (confirmed)

Taihape is New Zealand's Gumboot Capital with its Annual Gumboot Day and its permanent Gumboot Throwing Lane, located right next to the railway station.

For those train passengers that would like to try something new, the Gumboot Lane will be manned by Taihape Rotary while train passengers are in Taihape.

Taihape Museum (confirmed)
The Taihape Museum will open its doors today from mid day till 3.30 pm. For more information on us and where we are, click here.

Gumboot Throwing
Try your hand at gumboot throwing (2 - 3pm) and, if you're lucky, enjoy pancakes and maple syrup hosted by the Rotary Club of Taihape at the Gumboot Throwing Lane, located right next to the railway station.
